Valentine Love Letter from God

My precious one,

It’s the Hallmark created holiday, Valentine’s Day. I know this time of year might be challenging for you. I know the world tries to make people feel like we are “less than” if we don’t have a Valentine. Commercials and advertisers will tell us this weekend is all about romantic candlelit dinners, flowers, flirty cards, and boxes of chocolates from “that special someone.”  To be honest, there’s nothing wrong with any of those things, but I want you to know, that with or without those things, you are loved, and I see you.

I think you are more precious than silver or gold. You are beautiful. I love that smile of yours. I see you not as the world sees people, but as someone who knew you before you were born sees you and loves you. “For [I] formed [your] inward parts; [I] knitted [you] together in [your] mother's womb.” Psalm 139:13

“Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” Isaiah 49:17

You make me happy when you love others. You delight me when you show kindness to those the world doesn’t even notice. The world doesn’t see the heart as I do. I pay attention to the details that most won’t notice. “But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

When cupid shot that dart, it was my heart that was captured by you. You are precious to me. On this day, you may not get chocolates, or flowers, or diamonds, but I know that your beauty is deeper than any of those things. The love I have shown surpasses them all. “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”  1 John 3:1

My child, my purpose for this love letter is for you to know the depth of my love for you. It is not something that I give you one day out of the year to celebrate. It cannot be bought or earned, but it is freely given. My grace and mercies are new each morning, for YOU. Because I love you in a way that this world can never love you. My desire is for you to have confidence and faith in your heart today and all days, and that you are loved by me so much so that I gave my life for you.

Nothing of this world will last, so do not allow things of this world to drag you down.

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Psalms 31:30
